A coronary heart disease prediction model using logistic regression based on Evans dataset
Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease (CHD), are among the common diseases in both developed and developing countries and regarded as the main cause of death throughout the world. C oronary heart disease itself has been still being the leading cause of morbidity and mortality among adults in Europe and North America. The early prognosis of coronary heart disease can help making decisions in changing lifestyle of high-risk patients, thereby reducing complications of the disease. Therefore, the use of data mining algorithms could be useful in predicting coronary heart disease. This study aimed to create a coronary heart disease prediction model using logistic regression, with the help of statistical software R, based on the Evans heart disease dataset.
