Abstract

The study focuses on selecting exercises to develop general physical fitness of first-year female students enrolled in volleyball physical education courses at Quy Nhon University. Based on the selection of six appropriate general physical fitness tests, the research team designed 32 exercises, categorized into four main groups: speed, strength, endurance, and flexibility-dexterity. Through a survey of 19 experts, 24 typical exercises were selected for implementation. These were tested on 80 female students, who were divided into experimental and control group. After 15 weeks of application, the test results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in physical fitness across all six tests, with an average increase of 20.28%, compared to 7.55% in the control group. These findings demonstrate that the developed exercise system is effective and highly applicable in teaching physical education to non-major female students.
