EFFECT OF SEISMIC INCIDENCE ON THE RESPONSES OF REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURE USING MULTI-COMPONENT INCREMENTAL DYNAMIC ANALYSIS
Abstract
This article evaluates the seismic response of reinforced concrete structure using MIDA (multi-component incremental dynamic analysis) method. For this aim, an analytical model is used to calculate the incidence angle of ground motions that vary from 0 to 360 degrees, with an increment of 10 degrees and to show their effects on divers engineering demand parameters. The obtained results indicate that the influence of seismic incidence should be considered conservative in the structural response assessment. Additionally, the maximum inter-story drift of structure will behave in the elastic or inelastic range depending on the difference of incidence angle.
