Since the introduction of soft power in 1990 by Joseph Nye, the term has quickly attracted the attention and research of scholars and politicians around the world. S oft power has been increasingly applied in national foreign policy to increase its position and influence in the world in the 21 st century. To contribut e to research on soft power , the article delves into the historical context of Joseph Nye ’s soft power, evolution from the term soft power until Joseph Nye ’s systematic perfect ion of this term , the content of soft power and the deployment of soft power in foreign strategies of some most influential soft power countries.
