The efficiency of Vietnamese commercial banks
Abstract
This paper estimates bank efficiency of Vietnamese banking system over the period 2005-2017 by using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. Besides the overall efficiency, the study also decomposes bank efficency into each sub-stage of business period of the bank. The results show that politically connected and government-owned banks are more efficient compared to their rivals both mobilizing capitals and making profits.
