An investigation into TESOL postgraduates’ reading habits at Ho Chi Minh City Open University

Abstract

Exploring learners’ reading habits has recently been paid attention by numerous educators, helping orient learners to possess a good reading habit. The fact shows that learners’ reading habits and their academic performances have been interrelated. The present survey study was carried out on over 75 TESOL postgraduates at Ho Chi Minh City Open University. Based upon the preliminary results, the study investigated how these students possessed their reading habits as well as what factors directly hindered their reading habits. Finally, this paper recommended some solutions to help the learners improve their act of reading.
